FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MUSKOGEE, OK, March 26th, 2025 – Par for the Course, an upcoming mockumentary comedy series, has been officially selected to screen their proof-of-concept short at the 26th Annual Bare Bones Independent International Film & Music Festival. The festival, which will take place from March 27-30, 2025, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, marks the first official selection for the project.

The short follows a group of employees at Glory Harbor Golf Club who, after participating in a scramble tournament, find themselves entangled in an over-the-top dispute with a skeptical regular named Dean. As tensions rise over an allegedly dubious score, chaos ensues, culminating in a bizarre brawl that is unexpectedly settled by Howard, the club’s notorious streaker. The short encapsulates the series' offbeat humor and absurd yet relatable workplace dynamics.

“We are beyond excited to have Par for the Course showcased at Bare Bones,” said Eric Trosch, creator, writer, and director of the project. “This festival has a strong reputation for celebrating independent filmmakers, and it’s an incredible honor to have our proof-of-concept short make its debut on this platform.”

The Bare Bones International Independent Film & Music Festival, known for highlighting independent productions and has been a staple in the indie film community since its inception. The festival’s mission is to recognize films that embody the spirit of grassroots filmmaking, a value that aligns perfectly with the creative ethos behind Par for the Course.

About ‘Par for the Course’

Set in the sun-soaked landscape of South Florida, Par for the Course is a mockumentary comedy series that chronicles the misadventures of two laid-back cart attendants at Glory Harbor Golf Club. Tasked with managing a clientele of eccentric regulars and navigating the absurdity of their workplace, they find themselves constantly caught up in unpredictable and hilarious situations. The show blends elements of workplace comedy with a sharp, satirical take on the world of golf culture.

The short film, which serves as a proof of concept for the series, introduces audiences to the show’s comedic tone and dynamic ensemble cast. With a mix of improvisational-style humor and scripted chaos, Par for the Course aims to carve out a unique niche in the realm of sports-centered comedies.

“Our goal was to create something that feels fresh and different while still paying homage to classic workplace-centered series,” said Harrison McNeill, director of photography and assistant producer. “Golf courses have this strange ecosystem of characters that make for endless comedic material, and we wanted to bring that to life in a way that feels both ridiculous and relatable.”
